Piano

Tim is a passionate composer/experimenter and a teacher of piano, music theory, music writing, and electronic music.  His compositional work has focused on generative and interactive electronic pieces and computer-orchestrated works.

Tim earned his B.A. from UCSB’s College of Creative Studies, and his M.M. from SDSU in Music Composition (emphasis on electronic music). As a Sally Casanova pre-doctoral scholar, he researched and presented on generative music in Morelia, Mexico at CMMAS (Mexican Center for Music and Sound Arts).  Tim’s current work focuses on NIME related (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) research that aims to assist non-musicians by translating between music jargon and non-specialist language.
